What is a Hulda Clark Zapper

The Hulda Clark Zapper is a simple electronic device for killing bacteria, viruses and other harmful organisms.  For those who may not of heard of Dr. Hulda Clark. She had an earned PhD in physiology so she was a classically trained biomedical researcher. She did a lot of research on using frequencies to detect microorganisms and destroy them.

She invented a very simple device called a “Zapper” that cost less than $10 in parts and runs on a 9 volt battery. It uses two simple, hand held electrodes which are typically made from short lengths of metal pipe. It produces an approximately 30 kHz output that only has the positive half of the wave cycle. The signal never goes negative so it is really just a series of positive pulses which is half of a wave, not a true wave.

How a Zapper Works

Although people frequently confuse zappers with Rife machines, zappers work on completely different set of principles. See What is the Difference Between a Rife machine and a Hulda Clark Zapper for details.

Clark’s original theory was that most of the nasties have a negative charge and that the positive pulses destroyed them. However later after more research she concluded that what was actually happening was that many pathogens have the ability to secrete chemicals that lull the body’s natural defenses to sleep, particularly the white blood cells.  Her theory was that the positive only pulses reawaken and energize the white blood cells so that they start doing their job and attack the pathogens. She also theorized that many of  the nasties were negatively charged  and liked to  hide in pockets in the cell walls. She thought the positive pulse attracted and dislodged the negatively charged nasties so that the body’s white blood cells which were energized by the positive pulses could attack and kill them.

I had a personal experience recently which lends credibility to this theory.  I went to the doctor a few months ago for a routine check up a few days after I had been Zapping for several days.  When the doctor called me later with the results of my blood test, he noted that my white blood cell count was a little high.  I didn’t have any obvious signs of infection and the reading wasn’t that high but it was enough that he wanted to keep an eye on it.  A few months later when I had another blood test but I hadn’t been Zapping the white count was back to normal. That’s hardly proof of anything but it is an interesting anecdote.

Zapper is not Frequency Dependent

Unlike a Rife  Machine or  other frequency dependent devices, the exact frequency produced by the Zapper is immaterial.  There is no need to match the frequency to the pathogen you are trying to kill like there is with a rife machine.   Clark’s reason for picking an operating frequency of about 30,000 Hz was because the human body offered less resistance to electricity at that frequency so the energy transfer through the body is more efficient.  All that really matters with a Zapper is that it only puts out the positive half of the waveform and that the signal never goes negative.

Zapper  Limitations

The downside of the Zapper is that the relatively weak signal doesn’t penetrate very deep into the body, so it’s only effective at the surface level and in the blood stream.  It doesn’t reach into the inside of the digestive tract or other organs, bones or the brain.  Hulda Clark herself acknowledged  this limited penetration of the Zapper. Of course the white blood cells which are circulating in the blood stream during a Zapper session and are energized by  the Zapper may eventually find their way deeper into the body.  So the Zapper may have an indirect effect on parts of the body that the signal itself doesn’t reach.

Technical Specs for a True Hulda Clark Zapper

To be a genuine Hulda Clark Zapper it must have 3 characteristics.
1) The output must always be a POSITIVE signal. It can never go negative!
2) Target output frequency of approximately 30 Khz
3) Battery powered for safety and to help ensure positive only output.
If the manufacture will guarantee to meet these conditions that’s all you need. I bought the one pictured above from eBay for $22 in the US. I checked the output on a digital oscilloscope and verified that it meets all 3 conditions specified by Hulda Clark.

Zapper Contacts

Hulda Clark recommended using two short metal pipes, held in the hands to transfer the electrical signal to the body. She also recommended wrapping each pipe in one layer of a damp paper towel. The water allows the electricity to pass while the paper towel blocks the metal from coming into direct contact with the skin, thereby preventing  the skin from absorbing any of the metal.
According to Clark, pressure also plays a role. Compressed skin has less electrical resistance than uncompressed skin. You don’t need a death grip but you do need to squeeze gently to compress the skin slightly. The same effect can be accomplished by putting one of the pipes or a flat metal plate under a leg or underneath your body if you are lying down or pressing it against your body if you want to concentrate the energy in a specific area.
I’m not a fan of the Zappers that have two copper coin contacts for a few reasons.
1) A Zapper works by passing a positive only signal through as much of the body as possible. When you put the two contacts close together like that you shorten the path to just an inch or two. You have to wear it for a long time to pass enough blood through this small area to do much good.
2) Two small coins do not have much surface area so all of the electricity flows through a small section of skin. This can result in irritation and burns,
3) Hulda Clark was not a fan of putting any kind of metal into direct contact with the skin because it may be absorbed through the skin.

Enhanced Zappers

Let’s face facts, it is very hard to make very much money selling something that cost less than $10 in parts and sell for less than $25.   So, some Zapper manufacturers have tried to enhance their products by adding the ability to run some Rife frequencies or other bells and whistles. To me this seems more like a marketing ploy that tries to blur the line between high end Rife machines and cheap zappers and justify charging more for their zappers. The zapper is still a low power device that is incapable of penetrating like a high powered Rife machine. However, some people have reported good success with these devices so the jury is still out.

Hulda Clark Zapper and Hurx

Hulda found that three back to back cycles of 7 minutes of treatment followed by 20 minutes of rest produced the optimal results with almost no Herx. Her theory was that the first cycle kills the larger pathogens and some parasites. When they died the smaller bacteria, fungus and viruses which were inside the larger pathogens were released and that these smaller bacteria and viruses, if left untreated are what produce the Herx effect. The second 7 minute treatment would then kill these smaller pathogens which in turn might have even smaller pathogens inside them that would be released upon their death. The final 7 minute cycle would then deal with these smallest of the pathogens. Regardless of how it actually works, a great many people have reported success with little to no Herx with this method. It is certainly okay to zap longer if you want. It won’t hurt anything but I’m not sure how much more good it will do.

Zapper Schematic

Unlike a lot of medical researchers who try to hide their secrets so they can maximize profits, Hulda Clark freely shared her research results and her inventions.  She even published the schematics for her Zapper  and her other inventions. Here is a link to the schematic for the Zapper. If you don’t want to build your own you can buy a basic one on eBay for less than $25 that meets Hulda Clark’s specs or you can buy ones with more bells and whistles for more.
